Maxi skirt is fun but maxi dress is even better. I'm sure most of you are having at least one maxi dress in your closet. Have you been maximizing the beauty of it? Here are some ideas for you to dress up or down with the maxi dress to refresh your looks.
First is the basic. It's the summer look with bright accessories. If you leave anywhere outside of San Francisco, you can forget about the jacket. If you're in San Francisco, you know what I mean. :-)
Second is the formal look of the maxi dress that I create by changing the accessories. I hope you see the important of having options for accessories, and using it wisely.
Third is the casual look inspired by the "Boho" style. Add a sweater over the maxi dress, you'll be surprised with the outcome. Try it! :-)
The beautiful weather in San Francisco the last couple days is giving me a chance to have fun with my sundress. Love it so much. This is a simple dress, but again, I like to use it in different ways, different situations. Actually it's always the first thing that I consider to buy new clothes. The question is: Can I wear it to different occasions? If the answer is yes, oh gosh.... I have to have it. :-)
In order for me to have a versatile closet, I need basic garments that can be versatile too. Denim jacket and black blazer are two of them. I can wear these two with mostly everything, depend on the occasion, I switch between them. Denim jacket creates a fun, cool look, good for going out both day and night time, while the black blazer is a little bit more formal, perfect for work environment or business meeting.
What is the other option if I don't wanna wear any kind of jacket? Then I'll play with scarf, still fun and feminine. Why don't you try it and let me know what you think? :-)
Just a random thought, it inspired me to create this look. It's perfect for Paris: trendy with vest, romantic with palazzo pants, and of course the touch of red. That's Paris!
Have you ever been confused by these terms in an invitation: "Business casual" and "smart casual"? I did, especially for men's wear. For women it's easier to define the difference but for men it's a whole different story.
Here's what I learnt from my experience in fashion industry and from the top stylists for men's wear all over the world:
- Business casual usually means full suit with button up shirt and without a tie.
In the summer, business casual dress code also means you can wear a cotton suit which the most casual fabrication for a slack of suit. That's why you can add a tie to make it more "business".
Now, let's talk about "Smart Casual". I like to talk about this more because it fits better with the "lay-back dress" culture of San Francisco.
Smart casual usually means a suit or blazer with a button up shirt and dark denim. That's the original look for "Smart Casual". However, depend on the place that you're at or the occasion, the "Smart Casual" can be flexible. Here are some varieties of this look:
Maxi skirt has always been one of my favorite garment ever. You can see that recently it's been becoming a trend with many variety of fabrication and silhouettes. That's mean doesn't matter what type of your body is, you will find a maxi skirt that is totally flattering you. I create the look for this weekend with maxi skirt and the combination of bright colors to light up your day.
